Something is up...maybe the sting of that lawsuit they just settled or maybe more. TBD. -

Dare Obasanjo (carnage4life@mas.to)'s status on Friday, 26-Apr-2024 20:57:14 JST Dare Obasanjo A Tesla owner has been charged with vehicular homicide for killing a motorcyclist while browsing the web on their phone while the car was on Autopilot. According to the driver he was “putting the trust in the machine to drive for him,”
The naming of this feature kills people.

hankg (hankg@friendica.myportal.social)'s status on Saturday, 27-Apr-2024 04:37:18 JST hankg @carnage4life @goatsarah Agreed that people need to understand the limitations of things. But Musk didn't just have them call it "autopilot" or "driver assist" they had them call it "full self driving". He also put out BS videos of the cars supposedly driving themselves. I know a few Tesla owners that basically just put it in FSD mode and then browse the internet, read their phones, etc. in rush hour traffic. These are people that should know better too. They bought into the whole Tesla BS campaign on this feature. It's sort of like the friend that insists that they are actually a better driver when they are drunk because they pay attention more. Maddening. But at least the alcohol companies weren't pitching that mentality as a feature of their products. -
