   @TheBreadmonkey @HunkThunderzone I have always hated large arenas. Have been attending more festivals in recent years so I'm glad those are paying well.

   I'm used to small venue shows giving discounts if you buy merchandise in cash, because that goes straight to gas or hotel with no wait. And that can be for established bands with a good history and catalog at a 2500 seat place.

   If artists can't get paid on tour, and can't get paid on streams, then we won't have them for very long

     I see a reasonable amount of live music and the big arena shows aren't for me any longer. I've taken the kids to see the intergalactically popular artists and it's not worth it. Except I suppose to them. But give me small venues every time. There are a few interesting festivals on near me where a town is taken over for a weekend and it's all unsigned bands playing all the pubs and clubs and bars, with some bigger names headlining the bigger venues. That's nice because you can see a wide range of artists before they break, and the venues are manageable.

     @TheBreadmonkey concerts are one of those things I've barely done because it's hard to justify the expense and all the logistics for 1-2 hours of music.

     I'd honestly rather watch a well filmed concert than go to one.

     Live music is nice, I've loved sitting in a piano bar or watching a good band in a small venue. But the arenas just don't seem as worth it.

     This is so sad. Art is the thing I believe makes us fundamentally human and pretty much the only reason I think we deserve to continue existing. If not art then what - the economy? I would rather we all cease to exist. I can't be the only person who feels this way. The commercialisation of it all is so sickening. It's not even about art but ticket sales and cross selling and up selling. Merch and clothing brands. Noone cares about the music. It's all a product.
