    The Agent Smith Effect

    In the movie, The Matrix, Agent Smith has the ability to enter any body, at any time, and that often happens when the Matrix is threatened by Neo. This senario is a reflection of our real world. For example, you're having a conversation with a friend and everything is fine until you mention something like, "Adolf Hitler was the good guy". Now watch what happenes, up pops Agent Smith, to replace the person you were just having a conversation with to attack you because all truths threaten the Matrix.

    Most people have had the Agent Smith Matrix programming since birth. These programmed people become the guardians of the economic Matrix that keeps them slave's, protectors of the code. The police of mind control and enforcers of the indoctrination which holds together our false concept of reality like super glue.

      @Dagnar @White_Rabbit >"The One"
      Sounds like Great Man theory. There are great men, but they don't operate in a vacuum. It's why they're not exclusively a product of any one family, culture, or even people. They are, as you alluded to, dependent on and a conduit for the things around them. Even in The Matrix, Neo required support to do what he did e.g. his physical body required protection, nourishment, etc. including events where people sacrificed their lives to protect him.

      There's another thing to consider. A role-play mentor is Second Life had described this phenomenon as "The One" syndrome when he was talking about character creation, but I see it applying to real life as well. The One is the only one, the designated, the chosen, the product of some lineage or the one named by prophecy. This is the only person capable of defeating the Great Enemy (whoever it is), or of wielding the power. If this person fails, then all is lost, but if this person succeeds, then everyone lives in some ideal of perpetual bliss and safety.
      The problem with this is it excludes the efforts and actions of others. By placing all on one person, the idea of the Folk, the collective, and any other variation of group identity is rendered irrelevant. No one else can arise to lead, to wield power, to influence the outcome. All others become NPCs, background characters, supporting roles.
      I reject The One. We will never have peace, never have security or growth, until we as a collective overthrow the enemy as a group. We cannot exist in a vacuum, we are not islands unto ourselves. Individualism has led us to disunity and chaos, and will be our demise if we continue this path.
      I thank Hitler for his efforts, but he was not the only one. Himmler, Göring, Goebbels, Heydrich .. they were all part of the greater whole and together gave us the legacy we need to assemble and defeat the enemy. NatSoc Germany was a group effort, and so we must become a group once again.
      Hitler must not be "The One"

      @BowsacNoodle @Dagnar @White_Rabbit Hitler required the Great War to become who he was, as did all the brave men who brought him to power. Just like Alexander required the Macedonian military training to become who he was, the first among equals of his Companions. Someone else could have filled their roles, but someone else would have acted differently because of their different personalities, and history could have changed dramatically. The circumstances change, and there is no great man. The great man changes, and there is no world-shaking change.
