Did you know?
The German word for “areola” translates as “front courtyard of the breast wart”.

(I am not making this up.)
@thomasfuchs could they have not simply said "Nippelhof"? this is extremely weird
@recursive “Nippel” is both a technical term for e.g. the baby bottle nipple but it’s also used colloquially to refer to the anatomical nipple
@thomasfuchs ohh Brustwarzen and Nippel, is the latter just something different like on a baby bottle or a pipe nipple?
@thomasfuchs I dated a German, and she told me that there was no way to speak sexily in German. She never gave examples and just said English was better for that kind of thing.
This pretty much illustrates that. 😅
@recursive Both words are in regular use, though colloquial use tends to use Nippel if you’re using informal pronouns with people.
@thomasfuchs (although on more reflection I suspect this is like how French people don't actually say ordinateur)
