   So, this character was a bit more difficult to get right, because his main trait is a bit intangible.

   We needed someone who:
   - runs a hostel that serves as the player's hideout
   - is a local leader and basically a radical leftwinger, but not the kind that writes lenghty essays
   - is definitely very smart
   - ...and his main trait is an aura of untrustworthiness.

     The version on the left was our initial attempt. It has two issues:
     - he looks too much like he could beat you up
     - he looks like has a manual job, like moving crates in a warehouse
     None of the above is true for this character.

     We then tried a few things, and the one that did the trick was making him smile less. The goatee makes him look too much like a parody. The pirate shirt, on the other hand, makes him look more like a bartender, which he actually is, so we'll keep it.

     One thing that comes to mind when looking at these pictures is that he's too clean. This is a deliberate choice that saves us time. We can always dirty him up in production.

     Two other choices you might not notice easily:
     - instead of a prosthetic he's actually missing a tooth, which is why he doesn't smile as wide
     - he needs glasses but doesn't use them all the time. He keeps them in a case in his pocket.

     These are meant to be noticed by the player... but not at first!
