I’ll try it! I think that’ll get me halfway to what I want

Jerome (He/Him) (jeromechoo@masto.ai)'s status on Wednesday, 17-Apr-2024 05:59:46 JST Jerome (He/Him) @heycaseywattsup why not just use any old newsletter service and send people ICS files semi-manually?
Eventbrite also doesn't require signup for attendees, though RSVPing is a bit more involved since you have to "buy" tickets.

Casey Watts! (he/him) 🌈🫧 (heycaseywattsup@social.coop)'s status on Wednesday, 17-Apr-2024 05:59:48 JST Casey Watts! (he/him) 🌈🫧 is there any "no account / mailing list" service that ALSO does events?
by "does events" I mean
* offers to add events to their calendars (sends an .ics file attachment?)
* sends reminders to events they RSVP to -

Casey Watts! (he/him) 🌈🫧 (heycaseywattsup@social.coop)'s status on Wednesday, 17-Apr-2024 05:59:50 JST Casey Watts! (he/him) 🌈🫧 Is there some FOSS (or even proprietary!) software that does this?
I want to communicate to people who don't like to create accounts, they're like this:
* people want to hear about events (improv, Zumba, etc)
* they WILL sign up to a mailing list
* but they will NOT "create an account"For an example, Substack does this for newsletters! You can "sign up to a newsletter" before creating an account (but Substack is not events-focused)
