@WeebFirstGames nah, this is probably so they can try to guilt businesses into not closing.

@WeebFirstGames the problem is that they have worn the shame game out.

@doctorsex @WeebFirstGames oh for sure, I didn't mean "worn out" to mean "no gas in the tank" - but rather than it has lost full power.

Not exactly. It's certainly past It's zenith and we're starting to see diminishing returns on a lot of the harrasment strategies, but there's still some gas in the tank

@sickburnbro The issue is that at some point someone will need to repair the damage done by these policies and it won't be enough to say "oops, let's hope that never happens again!"; something will have to be done to the promoters of this lunacy so that any future thoughts of a repeat don't occur.

This is exactly what it is. I read a bit more into the bill and in the 6 month window they're not allowed to close they have to meet with "community leaders" to address the problems they create by leaving. You couldnt pay me enough to be the Walgreens community ambassador that gets stuck with that.

@WoodFren @WeebFirstGames yeah, I mean you've seen that technique in like Chicago where they were trying to pressure a grocery store to not close. "meeting with community leaders" -- yeah that's great man, they're having $10,000 in losses per day in theft, how much "getting they lives tagether" are they supposed to donate to the community

@sickburnbro If the price for compliance is too high, non-compliance will be the result.
They're not going to be able to force every CEO to write off endless losses to appease some mayor. The City of San Francisco cannot actually force the stores to stay open.

@dogslurp yes, and conservatives, to their determent in general can see the next step ahead and want to talk about it, but progressives now see that there is power to be gained taking it to that point and blaming it on the CEOs.
The conservatives mistake is thinking that conversation is still possible. So it's hilariously seeing a real hypothetical future while ignoring the existing present.
