     @SuperDicq @VD15 @Weeble By the time people start talking about watching a new anime I'm usually up to date on reading the manga. I know animes are better now at not being 80% stretched still pans but I really can't fucking watch them usually. And the voice acting doesn't really appeal to me.
     In fact my fav animes to rewatch are in dub form. (Black lagoon, hellsing U and gunsmith cats)

     @mer@cdrom.tokyo @VD15@pl.valkyrie.world @Weeble@bungle.online Manga adaptions have indeed become different from 80% stretched still pans but also tend to take more liberties in not following the manga exactly anymore. This can be a good or bad thing sometimes if they skip over important details because anime has to be shorter.
     
     The best anime in my opinion are still shows that are anime originals and not manga adaptions.
     
     As for dubs, I mostly enjoy the Japanese originals. But there are some shows where the dub is genuinely good and I prefer the dub such as Black Lagoon.

     Well I have you know that I, as a real weaboo, will NEVER skip the opening of any of my favorite shows. Can you even call yourself a real anime fan if you don't watch the opening again on every episode until the song is permanently imprinted into your brain?

     Anime is more mainstream than ever to the point where anime studios are dropping on services directly or sometimes simulcasting at the same time as JP airing.
     
     Most things fansubbers do these days is the extra dressing like u said or fix where services failed (which is not uncommon) or add honorifics back etc.
     
     Also some openings are ass tho it depends lol. The lyrics dont matter to me cuz Id sing it in japanese anyway

I honestly have trouble of remembering any anime that are very good that have an ass opening. All good anime has a great opening.

     All I do now is literally just run a samba server and stream everything using mpv.
     
     If you just organize your torrents directory a little bit this is honestly all you need, I don't want to use these bloated frontends anymore.

     @SuperDicq @VD15 @Weeble mpv has ass interface requiring full fucking keyboard to control it, most file managers are kinda ass to control via keyboard only unless it's ranger/FAR/norton/mc and those are kinda ass on tv. With kodi i just need the "simple" side of picrelated remote, mine's even simpler.

     @Weeble @SuperDicq i have two, both also have feature to "duplicate" IR blast to turn the TV on by reading it from actual remote but only "simpler" one works. Both also have gyro mouse but it's kinda ass for long-term use. Oh and i guess the "complex" one has microphone too but i don't use it.

They were usually 360p, forced 4/3 aspect ratio, bright yellow all caps hardsubs, with nonsensical and bad translations on purpose.

     @mer @Weeble @SuperDicq @VD15 I didn't believe in ten million fucking channels until we went on vacation, the boomers needed the television, the cable box was broke, and they started watching game shows on a channel built into the TV. The ads didn't even line up with the ad breaks, they'd just hard cut in the middle of the show.
     LG is probably making millions.
