@KiKi88@KennyWhitePowers@jill I think it's just like normally looking at the sun but without your eyes reflexively going full squint so that u just stare and wreck your vision.
It's coming right over the top of me. Idiots from all over have flooded my region. My town has like 800 people, and I have seen 2 license plates from California, 1 from Nevada, and some bitch from Utah ran into a ditch yesterday. Also it is going to be cloudy today. Doubt there will even be anything to see 🤣
@KennyWhitePowers@KiKi88@jill I looked at an eclipse briefly years ago with regular sunglasses on with no issues. I'm more nervous about the Chinese eclipse glasses being an epic prank to blind 25 million+ Americans.
@hammerswinger@KiKi88@KennyWhitePowers@jill It's supposed to be class 10 or something or it's not good enough. That might just be big welding supply trying to offload their super dark shades that no one uses though.
@branman65@KennyWhitePowers@KiKi88@jill Have you ever looked at the sun with normal sunglasses? I'm not talking about staring, but even a few seconds? You didn't go blind, did you? Same thing, but eclipses don't hurt your eyes or cause you to safety squint.
@branman65@KennyWhitePowers@KiKi88@jill >Sunglasses arent nearly dark enough youve certainly damaged your vision I used eclipse glasses for this one, but last eclipse I used sunglasses. Still 20/20 with no blind spots.😎 When I was a kid, I was told even accidentally glancing at the eclipse would permanently blind a part of your eyes for life. That's obviously false. They stress the dangers because it's a good heuristic, like treating every gun as loaded, and your body has no natural aversion due to the darkness while the UV damages you.
@dictatordave@branman65@KennyWhitePowers@KiKi88@jill >THEY HAD TO TELL RETARDS NOT TO LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN do these people do this on a regular day? Exactly. Normally you can't stare at the sun because it hurts. The one time it doesn't— an eclipse— is when they remind people that the sun will hurt their eyes even if it doesn't feel like it this time.
@BowsacNoodle@branman65@KennyWhitePowers@KiKi88@jill we had cloud cover just enough to act as a filter, and i just wore my script shades and took viewed through my phone as i took pictures, looked cool, like a sliver of a bright crescent at maximum
but lets circle back to the root here they had to tell retards not to stair at the sun THEY HAD TO TELL RETARDS NOT TO LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN do these people do this on a regular day?
