   I feel conflicted about attention given global temps of 2023 to present. On one hand, it's wise to worry they portend ill for a fossil-fuel warped climate. But on the other, they are still well within the 95% confidence interval of past climate science projections, so these temps represent rather small unknowns within a larger milieu of relatively well-understood and well-forecast consequences of burning fossil fuels.

     @llewelly Does the accuracy and predictive value of this data change anything about the fact that extreme action is required immediately? If not, then just use it as evidence that extreme action is required immediately. Because it is. Second-guessing this shit has no value.

     @llewelly @MakBerberovic Yeah, but it when it regresses to the mean (trendline, that is) for a couple of years people will be all like, oh, so global warming is over, what was all the fuss about?
