     @jkxyz @evan That would place it in Ceaușescu time. It’s a bit of a stretch to say that a Ceaușescu decree is a decision by an EU state. What would be more relevant is that the democratic state following Ceaușescu elected to continue the relations. Still would place them ahead of Sweden.

     @evan Great news. It seems unfair for the article to say that Sweden was the first EU state to recognize Palestine in 2014, however, when e.g. Romania has had bilateral relations since before 1988, and been an EU member since 2007. Sweden was the first Western European state to do so.
