     @HughWRoberts Weddings have absolutely changed in many ways

     Weddings back then (especially this great pic that you shared) weren't so publicly documented and it was more private compared to today.

     Now a days weddings are much like a major events and a very big business photography-wise that kind of started around the late 2000s and the 2010s in particular. If you're in a wedding today, it's certain that it's going to be public somewhere and every photo is documented.

     @HughWRoberts Also, there's lots of photographers that are very share happy these days compered to back then. I have been to a pree 2008 wedding and a post 2008 wedding and the difference is enormous.

     @HughWRoberts Not only social media has a role in the shift, but photographers today made it easy to find client galleries on the web and see full wedding galleries of the couple involved. Probably a promote their work reasons and they own the rights to the content.

     As for your other question, I can't say for sure as some families still do it today but it really depends on the family.

     @joeo10 Thank you. I agree. You have to look at social media to see how weddings are now seen by anybody who wants to find those pictures online. I do wonder what the stag and hen nights were like back then and how different they would have been. Plus, have the days of the bride's parents paying for the wedding gone?
