Is this a GIMP reference? :marseyhmm:
The opening post is about CLI tools and drawing circles is relatively easy and straightforward with ImageMagick, as much as it's at all possible with CLI tools: https://imagemagick.org/Usage/draw/#circles

Yep, Python and Lua are also supported AFAIK. Originally drawing circles wasn't very straightforward in GIMP, probably still is — there was no built-in tool for that, but it was still possible by filling a square and then culling it with circular selections to make a circle. I thought your reply is a reference to that.
But ImageMagick has always had a rich drawing toolset, for as long as I can remember, so contrary to what one might expect, using CLI tools for this is easier :marseyemojismilemouthtighteyes:In conversation permalink ロミンちゃん likes this. -

It's trivial to draw a circle in GIMP, just use the circle tool -> Select - > Border and colour in the circle.
You can also use python turtle scripting to draw a mathematically perfect circle if you want (something photoshop can't do).In conversation permalink
