   do you know how annoying it is when everyones like "oh you're probably trans because your mum wanted a girl and dressed you up as one and let you have really long hair when you were little or some obvious shit like that" and you're like, ok yes of course that did happen but it doesnt really count because she didnt remember doing any of that when i came out and denied it for like two years and now we're back on level pegging where shes like yeah thats true.

     also gender psychologists? totally outfoxed when you tell them your mum mistakenly enforced your correct gender identity on you before you were of the developmental age where you're old enough to understand your own gender identity.

     like youd think with how much randos think thats a sign of transing a kid they'd be like ah yes this is an obvious issue but no, it totally spoils their box from the wrong direction because you're meant to be convincing them of your young age story of when you first realized and they're in a state of preprepared incredulity so it doesnt work and it just short circuits things when you're like one my first strong memories is liking my minnie mouse shoes.

     @lulu yeah i can imagine if i had been a boy it would have been something id have brought up in therapy and been like idk i think maybe this did something?

     @siege my mother was exactly like that, but the thing is that she also did it to my two brothers and they hated it and are sort of traumatized by it, and I feel betrayed because as a kid it was fine for me to be a girl and then suddenly it stopped being ok.

     @Sleepytimeteabear i was apparently about 2 at the time and my mum came across a little grumpy me being miffed that i was failing to tie the laces of my minnie tennis shoes quietly saying "shit" to myself - or more specifically "thhit". Which also bonus points was my first word i learnt to say because my dad worked with computers and did not like them.
