     @rebeccawatson Hey, loved the video, as always! Just wanted to mention that what happened to your post was not a policy or decision from Mastodon as a whole, that would even be impossible, but from the Mastodon server that you have an account on, mstdn.social. Had you used another server other rules would apply. And you can also choose to migrate from the one you use right now to any other you want to at any time.

     Hope you're not getting hundreds of messages like this, but it is important :)

     @rebeccawatson Sorry, I did check your replies before posting (in app and on website), and didn't see any.

     It is important because you give the impression that no jokes like this will be tolerated anywhere "on Mastodon", and I really don't see how saying something like "on my Mastodon server" instead of "on Mastodon" would derail anything, any more than for example saying "on this Discord server" instead of "on Discord" if that was the case.

     @forteller I am getting hundreds of messages like this, and it's not important, it's stupid as shit. I know how Mastodon works. I used it as a framing device. Most people don't know or care how the fediverse works and I wasn't going to derail an entire video explaining it to them.

     @rebeccawatson @forteller I am one of the "hundreds" I guess. I think I get why you used the reductive language, but I also don't think it would have been too hard to say something like "I received this email from my mastodon server..."
