happy to say, Richard Dawkins has me blocked on Xitter because, during his Hijabi concern-trolling days, i not only dared to question his knowledge of Islamic traditions, but called him a bad atheist for not even knowing the basics of Christianity history, doctrine & theology.

@blogdiva He blocked me for calling him out over the fact that Ahmed Muhamed, the Texas kid who brought a homemade clock to class, was obviously not a terrorist and Dawkins was obviously being Islamophobic to suggest it was a reasonable thing to suspect him of.

you have given a great example of the difference between reactionary and liberatory ideologies. reactionary ideologies are reflexive: they recreate the status quo in their own image. liberatory ideologies are transformative: by showing how another world is possible, they gives us a blueprint to freedom from the status quo.

Like, what? Why would I trade one male figurehead for another? What are you… why do you think that’s a compelling offer?? Especially the Satanist ones, given how if you read nothing but Puritan fanfiction you’d think everything outside of Christianity was a matriarchy and…

@blogdiva Don't get me started! I could go on for hours on that subject. About how frustrating it was to be sitting right next to them as I realized they rejected belief in god but not other beliefs that, in my view, came straight from Christianity: strict gender roles, male superiority, social inequality, etc. That a world where they received lesser treatment for being atheist was intolerable to them, but a world where they received better treatment for being male, cis, white, straight, etc. was just fine. Fucking hypocrites. ~spits~
