Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer (wandereruber@poa.st)'s status on Friday, 15-Mar-2024 03:47:01 JST Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer 'Professional' programmers, what is your problem? You stuff your code full of thousands of lines of code just for internal so-called "exception handling" (it still crashes without signal and is slow as balls) but somehow you don't have the space to EXPLAIN what went wrong?
This shit, along with nu-windows 'whoopsie daisy' errors and still using 'error codes' is so fucking niggerlicious. Bitches go to college to study 'UI UX' and they still can't fucking tell me what the damn computer is supposed to be doing.
I HATE OBSCURE ERROR MESSAGES AND I HATE THE ANTICHRIST- PoalackJokes88 likes this.

PoalackJokes88 (poalackjokes88@poa.st)'s status on Friday, 15-Mar-2024 03:46:59 JST PoalackJokes88 @KnifeEar @WandererUber Have you tried using blender addons for solid modelling? It's different than the CAD programs but you'd be surprised what you can do with it. -

I feel you. I wish a blender level injection of cash flew into freecad or something. -

PoalackJokes88 (poalackjokes88@poa.st)'s status on Friday, 15-Mar-2024 04:02:25 JST PoalackJokes88 @KnifeEar @WandererUber I can't say what it was like in the past. But I've learned how to model some fairly complicated objects with it using some free add-ons, so it does what I need it to do. It's also got some pretty crazy functions for auto-generating certain features that I'm sure the CAD type stuff can't do, but you have to be careful that your object is actually watertight after you're done. The main issue I have with it is that the algorithms take shortcuts that lead to your model having problems, which don't really have a solution other than getting used to how Blender works to avoid them in the first place; also, save backups while you're working. -

Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer (wandereruber@poa.st)'s status on Friday, 15-Mar-2024 04:02:58 JST Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer @PoalackJokes88 @KnifeEar they do have some nice addons and the parts will look good if you know what you're doing.
My hope when using CAD is always that I can switch back and forth because it's non-destructive and parametric. Then again, Solidworks just broke my fucking model again because I changed a dimension and I have to redo an entire sketch because I have no idea how to fix it otherwise.
I'll probably redo the whole model once I have it done, just to get more training in. Might as well do a version in blender to see if it fits my needs better. Getting real sick of solidworks, it's worse than Fusion. Very fiddly and unnecessarily obtuse. Hope it was worth the switch though, looks more professional on a resume.PoalackJokes88 likes this. -

PoalackJokes88 (poalackjokes88@poa.st)'s status on Friday, 15-Mar-2024 04:04:02 JST PoalackJokes88 @WandererUber @KnifeEar I have the same thing happen to me in Blender. I know there are ways to do non-destructive modelling, but I haven't practiced them yet, at least not all the way through my workflow. -
