And outside of that, I think we seriously need to talk about the usage of these group bots because it's been twice recently that people have been abusing them to either spread spam or antiblackness to wider audiences. I'm at the point where I am considering blocking the bot from my instance to protect my users.
Quite apart from having a white person essentially be in charge of the group (which.....whatever), I reached out to them last week to ask why the group didn't seem to be functioning properly, only to not get a response. And I checked the listed contact's page and there have been no posts since October, so I'm not surprised.
Given that anybody can just @ the bot and have access to a bunch of the Black folks on the fedi directly, this isn't a good system and it needs to be fixed or the project needs to be sunset.
