I came up with the word "Groyper" as an online handle in early 2015. It started on /r9k/ when I made a thread where I started trolling women on reddit's dating subreddit. I simply wanted to make a name that sounded very trollish, like a gremlin/virus. So I randomly came up with the name. Anyway, many laughs were had. But I stopped using the name after that.
Then, I was on twitter in 2016 as a random wojak poster. Eventually, I was banned, and when I came back, I decided to dust off the "Groyper" handle and use Easter Toad as my avi. People were really intrigued by my name and it stuck as my online identity. In 2017, my account picked up steam on twitter, and one of my friends on there rebranded as @Professor_Groyper as a joke, but it stuck for him too, and he became a known account.
Eventually, by the end of 2017, it exploded in popularity and you saw different types of groypers everywhere. 2017 was a huge year for us, I was getting millions of twitter impressions every month. It was around this time I became mutuals with Nick on twitter, we didn't talk much but were friendly towards each other.
Fast-forward a bit and Nick has become very popular. A lot of his fans were also groypers, and he'd joke that he was being groyped and groypers were harassing him. Eventually, when trolling Charlie Kirk, he decided to use the "Groyper Army" thing, which I actually didn't mind. I supported the whole thing because I thought it was funny and wasn't trying to "protect" the word or anything.
Then I noticed Nick randomly unfollowed me on twitter around this time and clearly wanted to distance himself from me and my friends (the people that made all the funny groyper memes). I joked about this, he took it personal and blocked me, and his followers instantly became hostile towards us. I didn't play into the drama, but did not appreciate him rebranding "groyper" to mean anyone who pledged loyalty to him, and I thought a lot of the political artwork and memes they spewed were gay and narrow in scope.
Fast-forward to now, and I haven't been paying attention to him or his fanbase and don't care too much. I don't play into the drama and I don't hate someone for being a Nick fan (a lot of Nicker Groypers are friendly to me). But Groyper is my online handle and has been since 2015 really. I came up with the name and it rules. It just sucks that everywhere I go, people act hostile towards me and assume I'm associated with Fuentes.
If you'd like proof, check the sign-up date on my gab profile: gab.com/groyper, which says I joined in October 2016. I also have a Fightcade account that says I joined in June 2017 and graf has verified me on here and knows me from twitter.
@n3f_X@Sandstar@Professor_Groyper@Witch_Hunter_Siegfired@that_groyper We didn't take opsec that seriously back then and foolishly assumed people in our circles were good faith actors, so both him and I had posted irl pictures on occasion. When we ran afoul of certain people they were merciless.
@Professor_Groyper@that_groyper@Witch_Hunter_Siegfired@n3f_X@Sandstar I don't know. Certain people were saying he passed away. I hope that's not true and he just quit social media. He was talking about joining the military for a bit so it's possible he just ditched out on the interwebs and opted to go after other things.
@CatLord@that_groyper@Professor_Groyper@Witch_Hunter_Siegfired@n3f_X@Sandstar It's kind of a long story. At the time, I wasn't as "far right" as I am now, and he didn't like that. There was this guy on twitter at the time named "spicci" that was sort of big on RW twitter, and for some reason a bunch of them thought it would be a great idea to fake his death, and I exposed them.
They doxed me and reported my accounts and everyone that stood up for me. People that stayed out of it were fine. It was a shit show for about a year.
