John_Darksoul (john_darksoul@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 07-Mar-2024 09:52:52 JST John_Darksoul @WoodshopHandman It‘s Home Depot wood. It doesn’t look very good. You’d still apply a finish for a coffee table though right?

Woodshop ? (woodshophandman@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 07-Mar-2024 09:52:52 JST Woodshop ? @John_Darksoul I don't use hardware store wood. I don't use stains for anything since I use hardwood I get from a lumber mill. For finishes it really depends on context but shellac, boiled linseed oil (not the home depot stuff), and the stuff Tried & True makes are generally my go-tos, since I only use natural finishes. -

and we all know what passes for prime at 2x4. I've seen "prime" that has more bow than a 90 year old arthritic. -

Or if want rustic, dont sand, make sure they are tight together, rip to straighten. Then use self level epoxy and coat heavy to submerge. Will look cool rough but sealed smooth in clear. Will use alot.
Poly is not clear, so cant build up like epoxy. Will look crappy yellow.
