@jeffowski what a pile of antisemitic garbage, its not a genocide nor a holocoust, what a completly history denying nonsense. The situation in gaza is horrible, a war and a groundoffensive that was framed as the only way of defending israel, which I strongly oppose, but it is not a genocide and this relativation of the holocoust is pure horror. Educate yourself on history and stop throwing jews under the bus by the intend to help the palestinians... this bullshit is helping no one
@Bl4ckst4r -- If you cannot see the suffering in others and believe it should be stopped, then you are not someone that should claim to know anything about civil rights.
@Bl4ckst4r -- I guess you didn't' actually read the meme then... These are all things happening NOW, recently. No one can take you seriously if you can't effectively read or communicate what your issue is.
@jeffowski Really? The Holocaust, the systematic and industrial extermination over years, over a whole continent and beyond, is not comparable to a military (ground-)offensive in one of the most densly populated urban areas of the world, which would bring devastation and suffering and death to the civilian population living in thst area, even if the opposing combatants would not use civliian suffering as propaganda for their cause and shields to cover behind. The CIVIC (Center for Civilians In Combat https://civiliansinconflict.org/our-work/conflict-trends/urban-warfare/) estimates that in a war in an urban area 90% of the victims are civilians, that number of deaths in Gaza are lower, but obvisouly still horrific.
And knowing this, this offensive should have never started and is based of the hybris of conservative politicians believing in military solutions to political problems (like the neocons of the US in their war on terror). But it is no comparison to the Holocaust, that is simply downplaying the horror of that history and hence antisemitic.
And to specify. What is happening at the moment is the looming food and water crisis of the palestinians in Gaza (especially in the north of Gaza), the offcial israelian version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTDkQGc1vu4) is at the moment, that they deliver enough food into gaza through the border, but there is not enough infrastructure inside of gaza to deliver it effectivly to everyone, plus they want to deliver supplies over the sea by ship. But the people are desperate and the IDF might not had plans how to effectivly take care of the people they drove out from the northern parts of gaza as this article from Haaretz hints to: https://archive.is/ZqSmd (use Tor-Browser if the link does not work). The assesment of this article https://archive.is/VtvTx as well as this report from Channel4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gptXnDMjTDE surely show this horrific situation, but is not comparable to the Holocaust. Since there is no evidence of intend of starving the palestinians of gaza. Even if that would be the case, than the situation structurely different. There has been cases in the past were the intentional denial of food has lead to mass dying, as the holodomor for example (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor), but that wouldnt work as an antisemtic rewrite of history wouldnt it?
@Bl4ckst4r -- I find it insane that you don't equate these genocides together because Gaza hasn't been happening long enough. Just Fucking Wow... Like I said above, if you cannot see human suffering and wanting to stop it, you have no right talking about civil rights.
