     0 degrees Fahrenheit is liveable.

     100 degrees Fahrenheit is liveable.

     0 degrees Celsius is liveable.

     100 degrees Celsius is you've been killed by a cannibal tribe in the Amazon Rainforest that has access to an electric oven (and they set the temperature to exactly 100 C) and you are being baked.

     @Jens_Rasmussen @Arty24 @MechaSilvio America is a schizophrenic jewish golem that can't decide whether to go all imperial (American) or with metric.

     The fight against metric was always an idiotic sideshow that helped distract people from more pressing issues.

     But if it kept it up with just imperial, that'd still be better than mixing it up. Or, better yet, suck it up and just do metric because it's flat out easier.

     However, and I know this is not part of metric, you can keep your Celsius.

     I'd rather a temperature system for day-to-day use based on roughly the freezing point of salty water (Fahrenheit), since we're made up of more than just water.

     Same as half- and quarter-inches both being based on an inch, rather than being completely new things.
     
     The same cannot be said for Americans who use both liters and ounces.

     It's a disaster created from the worst of the enlightenment, that we would somehow purify humans with rationality and that enforcing a uniform scale on everything would do this.
     
     Note how they tried to fuck with dates in the french revolution as well.
