     @aks@scalie.zone I don't understand why installing everything from a single app store is such a normalized thing in the smartphone world.
     
     Imagine if Microsoft decided you could no longer run software from outside of the Microsoft store thing on Windows, there would be riots. Yet on iOS, for example, this is normal.

     "windows education edition" only allows software from the microsoft store to be installed and there certainly wasn't riots - only limited complaints.

     @Reiddragon You don't have control over your computer if you're running windows, as you cannot possibly control software that you're not even allowed to know as to how it works.
     
     I believe I confused "windows education" with "windows S", although in the end it seems both seem to have a similar restriction on installing.

     @Suiseiseki @SuperDicq Windows Education is also not what anyone with control over their computer uses, everyone who uses Windows uses Pro, or very rarely Home (if they happen to have a license for it and can't be fucked to pirate Pro)
     
     When Windows 10 S was first announced, people *were* getting their pitchforks ready, especially when it was announced the Microsoft Surface Laptop of all things would ship with it, then Microsoft back-paddled it
     
     Windows 10 Education tho? I don't think most people even know about it unless their school computers happen to run it

     @Selliato I'm having issues parsing that sentence, but it seems you have gone out of your way to pay extra for windows.
     
     Please do not give microsoft more money - it is immoral to give more money to a company who is going to use it to attack the human race and the planet more (prove me wrong).

     @Suiseiseki @SuperDicq because people bought it for this but for those who want a real OS and not some closed system they can choose the cheaper personal edition.
