so far the early results are: "explosion and gunfire both smell like different sorts of faint cheap cologne"
"it doesnt smell like gunfire, it just smells like a dickhead wearing something horrible, it smells like an asshole but not literal asshole"
"forest smells like you went to the dollar store and bought cleaning supplies.
Maybe sort of like a tree.. but a bad tree."
"clean air: ok that one smells like a cotton candy vape, like a fucking cotton candy vape, like someone is ripping sick clouds in here, im so disgusted by this, im so unhappy right now. sickly sweet, disgustingly sweet. it has overpowered all the other smells so i will give it that, it is burning my eyes."
@Louisa i have always loved and absolutely hated scratch-n-sniff technology
@siege I already had game scents!
the revolution it seems will not yet be smellevised
@neia not even that, it has 6 essential oils, it says gunfire is meant to smell of gunpowder etc but instead its like a dollar store axe bodyspray
@siege@octodon.social It detects you playing a shooting game as Gritty Male Protagonist # 117 and releases the smell of musk, cigars, and whisky, probably?
just as a note on the Game Scent system, the whole "AI Automatically releases SCENTS during GAMING" is mean to convey to you that all your computer audio is being uploaded some cloud server somewhere. There is a thing called "The Scent Server". Theres no EULA, no explanation of who or where your data is going. Just that its being harvested.
you can make a better unique smell experience for yourself by going and buying something that fits the game you're going to play.
Someone in the chat said "I wish this had a tiger balm smell so i could smell Snake while i play MGSIV" and like, nothing is stopping you from buying a pot of tiger balm and leaving it open while you play that game.
You can absolutely curate any game experience better than a machine which has only 5 scents. If you want your erotic game to be more immersive literally lay out some lube and coconut oil.
