     @Tak It's got the Play Store and I'm sure I could install F-Droid. I've got Firefox on there, not much else yet. You can set per-application screen settings (like quality and refresh speed) which is pretty cool

     @annika Oh, nice! I loved my yotaphone2.
     Can you run "normal" android apps on it, or are you confined to what they provide / support?

     @moritz This is my biggest concern. Android 11 is just about at EOL, if history is any indicator. But left offline, in theory it's fine until the hardware gives out?

     @annika I’m so jaded concerning these devices. Love the hardware, hate the software. I’d wager it’ll just become another paperweight after 1-2 years because its version of Android won’t receive any more updates (from the supplier or Google), and it will have so many vulnerabilities and issues, you might as well buy a new device entirely 😐

     Nice feature: I can set the screensaver to Transparent, load up a recipe, and Sleep the device, and the recipe stays on the screen

     @moritz The normal lock screen has my contact information (blurred out in the photo I posted earlier). It can also do a clock display with configurable update interval. You could probably use Transparent for a lot of stuff, like a persistent TODO list
