     Was he on some kind of pain killers or something to make him stay with the program that long without writhing in agony much more? He seemed to be shouting in anger, not pain, until he literally collapsed

     Yeah, and that makes sense. But I can't imagine being that animated on opioids of any kind. Maybe I'm just wrong. It's hard to say. It's not every day you see someone light themselves on fire and shout into the void until their body collapses from fourth degree burns.
