I like the part where I was leaving work and would shutdown my laptop, only for windows update to run for a fucking hour.
And windows doesn't just work. It works when it does and doesn't when it doesn't. At least with a *nix system, I have hope that there's a solution when it doesn't. Plus most of the "it doesn't just work" bullshit are just retards that don't want to rtfm and edit a cfg. Smfh.

@Humpleupagus @Inginsub @dushman @NonPlayableClown @Zergling_man @prettygood @newt When Linux supports gaming better than Windows I will abandon it as it progressively gets worse every update

I kinda disagree tbh. Linux on Gaming Laptops is still ass. Because of Optimus ofc.

I just like linux because my "computer" pretty much exists across my network. For example, in my office I run ncmpcpp on a different cpu (so I can save a monitor on my work cpu) than the one I use to control my mpd server via mpc (keybinding the media keys to scripts). The server is on a separate cpu altogether. Pulse can reroute the sound to any cpu sink.
And scripting is also great. I have all sorts of dumb little scripts that are helpful.
I have one for dmenu that can mount any file system in my house over sshfs. The menu puts [] around a system when it's mounted, and doesn't when it isn't. All of about 20 lines of bash script.
I just wrote one that allows me to search the contacts on my carddav server and populate the results in terminal, one at a time, with navigation. The terminal window is small and sticky, like Dan's mom.
I even enter my time for my work into sqlite via a script. Another script takes that data and plugs it into quickbook using xdotool over anydesk to windows.

@Humpleupagus @newt @Inginsub @dushman @NonPlayableClown @Zergling_man @prettygood Reminds of a recent issue I had where a Windows service ("Feature") wouldn't install and like the first 30 search results were "First, setup a new Windows VM, Second, move everything from the bad one to the new one, done!". I did finally find a fix but it's tell for modern Windows techs that the first solution that pops to mind is still "Fdisk-Format".
