@nyx real shit
I am so confused by autistics who don't view neurotypicals as basically being equivalent to sociopaths, in terms of threat modelling.

@nyx Preach, gurl.
It's a damn shame we can't pathologize the neurotype that demands fascism.
We could build such beautiful things if we schiz together. Let's lose our damn minds.

@elementals the neurotypes that desire their own repression or desire to repress others are just neurotypicals and sociopaths, respectively, lmao. this is the entirety of western civ

@elementals one of the aims of Anti-Oedipus and Guattari's psychoanalytic practice was to critique the tendency for bourgeois psychoanalysis to act as if every patient exists in isolation from the political conditions of their material reality. it turns out that if you aren't looking at it from a bourgeois context where individual patients probably don't live in proximity to those material conditions, it becomes pretty obvious that the reasons for why schizophrenia seems to be so incredibly debilitating and difficult to treat is because it's a type of thinking that diverges significantly from the status quo and that is constantly subject to repressive fascistic violence attempting to discipline the unconscious to function in a way that we now call "neurotypical"
in Guattari's practice at La Borde, literally just restructuring the institution around collective decision-making and giving all of the patients autonomy and the freedom to work different jobs in La Borde, removing the boundaries between patients and staff, lead to drastic improvements in their symptoms. this is just a small-scale experiment of what could be possible if society as a whole actually gave a fuck about NDs and allowed for them to work in roles better suited to their neurotypes

@nyx Literally everyone I know is diagnosed with depression and anxiety even though they all have other stuff underlying that is causing some symptoms resembling depression/anxiety to manifest, like it's ridiculous. Psychiatrists literally have a term for "your brain chemistry is fucking up with your volition" then apply that to anyone with a condition that sometimes discourages them from acting on motivations. Like, girl, what the fuck. I'm not sad because my brain is too broken to feel otherwise, I'm sad because I struggle with perseverence because my brain is too broken to always keep my ass on task.
Psychiatry is a pseudoscience.

@elementals this is of course exactly why it's basically part of the functioning of fascism to depoliticize the unconscious :xf_deleuze: :xf_guattari:

@nyx There's no fuckin' way schizophrenia and autism are mutually exclusive. That idea is fucking unhinged. Psychiatrists are fucking idiots.

@elementals it is sort of weird and anecdotally doesn't seem true but there are probably a lot of other things you could name that have overlapping symptoms. those are just two that come to mind as being notably easy to misdiagnose

there's enough overlap between neurotypes that are usually thought of as being mutually exclusive (like autism and schizophrenia) for me to think that a lot of symptoms of "mental illnesses" have more to do with being treated like shit by basically everyone your entire life most of the time, and usually in ways that you probably won't understand while they're happening during the formative years of development, rather than being inherent to the neurotype
occam's razor type shit that overpaid psychiatrist brain cops would never want to consider
