@Jyoti It always seems that the state will spare no expense at reinforcing the capitalist order - it's even evidenced by how much resources are put into the largely punitive welfare systems in several countries.

Let's just call everything cops. Book cops are librarians, fire cops obvs, transit cops (but for actually driving the bus), kid cops (teachers) and kidney cops (surgeons)
We can even keep the whole "marginalised-groups-get-more" thing, but you know, just more teaching/health/etc instead of violence.

It's not exactly free, but in Germany we introduced a ticket costing 49$ per month that allows you to use all public transportation in the entire country. In any form but the long distance trains.
