@Erpel
SC3K looks very comf! a game without enemies to kill.
my favorite game as a teen was Starbound multiplayer with frens while it was still in beta, but the developer ruined it and today it cannot be played like we played it back then :sadcat: it was the first contact to modding - changing LUA(?) to teleport or be invisible - that I had. also where I met ultem.

I wish all the dumb story elements and missions could be skipped.

@1iceloops123 @kaia @Erpel they don't work on it anymore, as far as i know. the game is completable nontheless. Frackin Universe is still a thing, though, which makes it a better game.
Rho tried to make her own starbound with blackjack and hookers (Farworld Pioneers) but its shit and doesn't work.

@icedquinn @Erpel @1iceloops123
Farworld looks cute though.
I wish there was something Open Source. like minetest, just 2D and cute and multiplayer so folks can hang out and build something while talking.

@icedquinn @kaia @Erpel maybe I'm ignorant because I remember Minecraft YouTubers were playing it back in the day like they did terria

@kaia @Erpel @1iceloops123 i bought it because rho got a raw deal working on starbound back in the day. but she is a terrible code wrangler.
supposedly she wanted an EA release, tinybuild said it was going to be a "full release," and they shipped with features like being able to fall through the floor of the world in to the backrooms constantly. there's also a grand total of two planets, so building the spesship is basically the game's end.
its part of what lead me to realizing i actually don't like tinybuild, they are assclowns to put a game in this state to gold, and i think their CEO admitted to using GPT to monitor his minions for wrongthink and shit.

@1iceloops123 @icedquinn @Erpel @kaia The entire development process from start to finish was British SA goon soydevs overselling and underdelivering. The Steam Early Access page had bullshots where they made concept art look like it was actual in-game screenshots. The CEO blew EA money on a posh London office and tried to force his dev team to move and work on-site, and about half quit because they didn't want to uproot their families or didn't even live in the UK. This resulted in him scrapping the roadmap, which after all of this, the people that bought the game EA turned on the development team. The story was them trying to shut up their critics by putting out a slapped together 1.0 release. Chucklefish's behavior was bad enough that the guy that developed Stardew Valley ended their publishing agreement once he caught wind of their business practices.
