Now I've got SocDems in the mentions saying "*we* really need to research anti-fascism techniques."
In-fucking-credible really...

LMAO, this hits way too close to home with my illfated attempt in mid 2020 to try and get an antifascist reading/working group up and going within my local DSA...
I went so far as to even ask out loud 'Do you want to just read about it or do want to be about it' and it was mostly awkward 'read about it' which actually kinda stung. I wasn't trying to get this going just so we could know...JFC.
@ciggysmokebringer If you could see the post... literally just absolute nonsense that I don't even know where to start with it. I just laughed at them and told them to go away.
@justafrog they opened up by telling me we've tried shunning fascists before and it didn't work. That the only answer prior to now was a world war, and that "we" really need to research anti-fascism techniques.
I absolutely haven't seen a bigger example of Dunning-Kruger in action today; and that's not easy because my mentions have been kind of a shitshow today.
@AnarchoNinaWrites Well, why would you use readily available manuals or contact extant anti-fascist groups?
No, this wheel needs to be invented anew!
Better late than never...
First thing they should learn, however:
You absolutely fucking don't fight fascists by trying to cater to their "worries", doing their dirty work on their behalf. If you do semi-fascist stuff in order to "appease" them, they will just continue to ask for even harsher measures against everyone they want to throw out of the country or kill right on the spot. Appeasement doesn't fucking work.
@GNUmatic No, trust me, the context of the post is so much worse than you think it is.
