    I wonder if democrats even realize that even if they are objectively the best choice, the overwhelming toxicity from that community to any level of criticism results in massive number of voters who are going to vote for trump purely as an emotional response to being mistreated by the community.. purely out of spite.

    In fact at this point I think Democrats and the way they treat people is probably the only real reason Trump is part of the landscape at all.

      @gabriel The more radicalized and abusive you are to people who are more moderate the more you are going to radicalize against you... people are emotional creatures, you being toxic towards someone for not being as radicalized to the left as you will ultimately just radicalize them to the right rather than being a moderate leftie. Do it enough and people support Trump purely as a hate-response to how they have been mistreated.

      @freemo The question nobody is asking is WHY are a lot of the Democrats so nasty and hostile? The behavior of both the radical trans and the pro-Hamas factions, the way they go into a physical rage when someone questions them, looks almost like demonic possession. Where does that fury come from?

      @mike805 I dunno about "radical trans" whatever that is...

      But its the same as with wars. They are radicalized and extreme, and that comes fromt eh same treatment they received, it goes in cycles and every cycle strengthens the other side rather than weakening it like you intend.

      The right has given rise to the radical left, which in turn has radicalized the right, which in turn further radicalized the left.

      Its very much a two way street. I just happen to be calling out one side right now, dont think for a second the other side is exempt.

      @mike805 I would say in the current cycle of hate the left is clearly the less tolerant to discuss, but the right is less tolerant not to discuss. The left will crank the toxicity up to 11 the second you want to discuss any nuance beyond the party line or the script... But the right is the opposite. If you dontfeel like talking about their conspiracy of the day they get triggered by the silence.

      @freemo Yes, thank you. A lot of people see things like those idiots throwing soup at the Mona Lisa, and other idiots defending Hamas, and just want to take the opposite side from that.

      A reporter did visit both Trump and Biden rallies during 2020. The Biden people were nasty and hostile once you disagreed with them, while the Trump people were more friendly.

      I'm not sure why people are so scared of Trump becoming a dictator. He couldn't even choose a yes-man veep. He's bad at picking people.

      @freemo yep.

      It's the old internet adage don't feed the trolls.

      Trump was on his way out of the limelight and into history until Democrats started renewing the attention and supporting his rhetoric by the way they acted.

      @volkris

      White knighting is definately a huge element here. That is a bit of a left narrative. Tehy are taught how there is so much injustice in the world… and there is, lots, but its exagerated beyond the already high point it is at to the point where the left thinks its literally everywhere.

      So they have this sense of white knighting and championing the cause. But then when they struggle to find anything as bad as they imagined they instead need to turn every little moderate offense into being the worse thing since the Nazis… this hyperbole combined with actively seeking things to white knight results in a lot of misplaced toxicity for sure.

      @mike805 My sense is that a whole lot of it comes down to rebels without a place to direct their rebellion.

      They need a The Man to fight against, but given the state of the US government they don’t see much to fight against there, so they start making up monsters.

      I mean last time this happened we had most of the USA burning to the ground for months on end... I even agree with them about the whole #ACAB thing and all, but that doesnt justify literally burning down businesses, homes, and facilities.

      @volkris @freemo If someone ever comes in and provides a place to focus their rebellion, then things will get interesting, in the Chinese curse sense.

      Right now nobody has a viable vision of the future. Some have an imaginary past they want back. If a leader could provide a vision of the future he could kick over this hollow and rotten system.

      @freemo @volkris And one of the worst things that happened during that time is that Trump wanted to bring in the National Guard and put down the rioting, and the permanent bureaucracy refused to obey his orders.

      Anyone on either side should see that as an outrage.

      @mike805

      Yes we shouldnt just be outraged at democrats for burning houses and businesses to the ground... we should also be outraged that Trump wanted to enforce the law and make it so people couldnt burn down houses and buisinesses... truely him wanting to stop innocent people from being burned out of their homes and businesses is the most evil thing he ever did.

      LOL come on. Trump is super evil and there is PLENTY to dislike about him... But when cities like mine were literally on fire (for a week the skys were black from the smoke) him wanting people to be held accountable for their violence is probably the lowest priority in the least of reasons to be outraged at Trump.
