     #DerSpiegel is an age-old, respected, *leftist* (Social-Democratic) weekly.

     You are wrong in this part of your assesment.

     The huge rise of the right in #Germany, in the former #Communist states before #Reunification by contrast is a fact.

     It is also acfact that at least almost a million people have been demonstrations in virtually all towns this past week.
     The demos had to be closed prematurely in #Hamburg and #Munich due to severe overcrowding.

     I can see your point based on #DerSpuegel cover, however following the #German news cycle *at the time*, I'd say most media had this bottom line.
     In retrospect, her statement might have come months too early, considering the pending #ICJ ruling on the #WarInGaza and the role of the #Israeli army in it.

     I'm not sure what #CNN is anymore nowadays. 😉

     Re/ #DerSpiegel, I'm not an avid reader. However, it is not "leftist" in the sense of "socialist" or even "communist", but definitely left-of-center.
     I checked on the long German Wikipedia article.*

     Finally, #DerSpiegel is one of #GERMANY's trend-setting media (#Leitmedien.)

     As I said, most mainstream media shared the same assessment of #GretaThunberg at the time.
     So, no, it is not fostering right-wing extremism.
     However, it definitely is not one of its best covers and the subtitle is too ballyhooed/Yellow Press style.
