Does every online forum dedicated to a topic devolve into talking shit about the subject?
Happens to every community on Reddit, message boards and (according to @Johncdvorak) it has happened here as well.
I happen to disagree with that sentiment.
I believe the producers of this show are far more intelligent than the hosts, but the hosts have far more media experience. The result is 2 overly-arrogant hosts that think their shit don’t stink.
It does, gentlemen.

@Truthy I somewhat agree with @Johncdvorak on that. I wouldn't say _every_ online social community, but a good percentage. If I had to guess it is usually something like
1) they come due to the topic (show/programming language/hobby/game/etc)
2) they get attached to the community here at least at a semi-personal level
3) something about topic eventually upsets them/gets old/they find a new thing/etc

4) now they dislike or outright hate the original reason they came here in the first place, but they stay due to the relationships they've built within the community
the older a community gets, the more of these people it builds up. eventually they overwhelm the remaining supporters, then they leave, and it devolves into a hate community.
not saying that has happened here yet, but it often happens and I've seen early signs of it for a while

@mh @Truthy @Johncdvorak Oh, it has definitely happened here. So much so that a lot of the folks who were here when it started have migrated other instances. When there are naked hate-filled posts directed at the show, hosts, and instance itself, it has definitely devolved. Not quite at a completely toxic level, but too many of the good ones have left, and too many new users think that this is The Troll Room.
