     @Slyence @malwaretech @gom the world outside the west is pretty nice. I live in Malaysia, public healthcare, great weather, great food, no guns, I pay stuff via QR codes so I forgot what cash looked like. It's even better in China.

     unfortunately I have the reducto spell of having seen actual oligarchies, and know many people who would spit in your face for the way you throw around the word

     go travel, see what the world outside the west looks like.

     Unless one belongs to a group/minority, which is not wanted by authorities. At this point digital money or the control over it becomes a problem. :/

     @gom I rather you go to China, visit it and come back and tell me how it's like. Until then I prefer not to talk about this as it is useless.
     I have visited China numerous times throughout its massive growth years and have seen it grow from a small economy to the giant superpower it is now.
     It's not as bad as how you paint it. But it is complex like any country with minorities. It's not as if the West is doing a bang up job with theirs either.

     Of course I can visit China. As a tourist it's going to be kinda smooth. It would even work me in North Korea. At least until I fly the colors of the Club/NGO which is (somewhat) connected to this mastodon instance...
     And all the fuckery of others is no reason to downplay other fuckups.

     Also, you are stating to a German, that there was good development, therefore it isn't sooo bad.. That's not how it goes, when at the same time minorities suffer and war is on the table.
