When Nixon resigned, the Soviets were stunned that we actually had the courage of our convictions. They could not imagine a superpower liberal democracy like the United States actually holding its supreme leader accountable for petty crimes.

Nixons resignation drove reform discussions in the USSR. They couldn't be outdone by the Americans, after all.

Now, we set a new example to the world: the strong take what they will, the weak suffer what they must.

So #Trump has a lifeline in #Georgia - the state govt will likely replace the elected prosecutor with a toady who will drop the charges.

My body is decidedly not ready for when the media collectively decides:
(1) the naked corruption of the rule of law is a purely political issue
(2) it's the Dem's sole job to campaign on this, and
(3) let's wholesale ignore the Dems because Trump gets higher ratings
