> Some employers said they'd be willing to offer older professionals more benefits and higher salaries to avoid hiring new college graduates, a recent survey found.
> Of the employers who said they prefer to hire older job seekers, 60% said they would be willing to offer more benefits to attract them, 59% said they would offer higher salaries, 48% said they would allow remote or hybrid-working opportunities, and 46% said they would be willing to hire overqualified candidates.
I wish that is true in the #Philippines.
However, it is true regarding why they should hire older professionals. For one, we're in that part of our life where we only want to work and get by with life.
Give us a decent offer, a decent environment, and a decent job, that's it, we're good.
We already have an experience working, and have the know-how as well. They don't need to give soft skills training; or worry if the new employee knows how to send proper emails (or to at least ask). ^_^;
@youronlyone I don't mind hiring fresh grads for as long as they're not this problematic. I get that each generation has its own quirks, but please, no parents in interviews! 😂
This also proves how the pandemic has wreaked havoc on people's social skills. Fresh grads these days barely have any training in the real-world workplace, so they're like fish out of water. How tragic.
@luthien1126 True! Like email, it's basic skill and “common sense” knowledge, especially if they were taught how to write letters/emails.
If it was the “reply to all” / “use the group email” that made it to show up as a complaint times 10, disaster indeed.
Instead of seeing “please remove me”, they are all into it, turned it into chat, to the horror of experienced employees. O_O;;
@luthien1126 @dyownie Parang #Kdrama lang eh. Kasama ang parents to either intimidate or to beg. LOL.
@dyownie Exactly! Hahaha!
@dyownie Napa-SMH 100x ako. 😂
@luthien1126 If I'm the hiring manager, I don't even know where to start. 🤣🤣🤣
@luthien1126 Oh wow.
