The troons are in revolt against kagi now for *simply including brave search proxy in their result options*. The hit is small right now but if you wanted to sign up for what I would unironically describe as a "life changing product" this would be the time to support them.
The owner basically said they weren't making politics part of their product decisions and the usual screeching and breaking of chairs followed.

@RustyCrab @rlier23 I can't go back, Kagi restores the usefulness of search engines that Google lost.

@RustyCrab how do you do that?

@rlier23 you just go to kagi.com and sign up for a free trial.
It's a paid search engine but it's the first one ever that has blown google out of the fucking water. It saves me 1-2 hours per day of research. No advertising or sponsored links that are plastered everywhere else.

@vic it's been phenomenal for every topic for me and especially tech questions. It saves me multiple hours per day not having to deal with usual search engine bullshit.

@RustyCrab Is it better than Brave? Is it good for searching for technical questions (e.g. pasting error messages or asking how to do something in a certain programming language)?

@Tsuki if they allowed that they couldn't push sponsorships.
Googles business model is to keep you frustrated scrolling through pages of ads not finding what you need.
Kagi is incentivized to get you off the search engine as quickly as possible because you using it costs them money.

Being able to rank up/down websites is my favorite feature. It's baffling this isn't standard for every search engine

@Arkana @rlier23 the base plan is pretty much that. You get a fixed number of searches and you can pay for more beyond that. I use it a shitton every day and I want access to their beta features so I'm actually an ultimate subscriber. That option is pretty expensive but the time and frustration it saves me is worth it 10 times over.

@RustyCrab @rlier23 It seems promising. I would like if they had a "pay as you go" option rather than a monthly payment

@PunishedD yes. Thats literally it. They're screaming and crying because Brendon Eich. The response was "I wouldn't stop using JavaScript because Eich created it"

@RustyCrab I don't get it, the complaint is it includes results from Brave?

@PunishedD they're a lot more upset that the owner did not immediately get on his knees and start sucking troon dick

So this is what it feels like to be the customer and not the product.
