@GatekeepKen@samlitzinger I couldn't agree more with the sentiment, but sadly the CDC has no such authority. It's the Florida Board of Medicine that would have to take action, and apparently it's just more Florida Man stories over there. (I assume he's licensed by that board because he has a position at U Florida.)
@GatekeepKen@samlitzinger Oh God yes. And I am not excusing the medical board's behavior, but if they pulled a Rebekah Jones and told the truth about Covid he would just replace them with more yes men. No doubt that's how they rationalize their inaction. A governor shouldn't have the authority to do any of that, but weaponizing the power of his office against truth tellers is DeathSantis' thing.
@MaryAustinBooks@samlitzinger I've seen estimates of deaths caused by Desantis upwards of 60K because of his denial and covering up covid deaths for his run for the Whitehouse. He directed Funeral Homes to not state covid as the cause of death. Heart failure was used to deminish the attention to the plague. That's how he got the Deathsantis title.
@GatekeepKen@samlitzinger California is the only state that's been proactive about doctors and nurses who spread vaccine disinformation. It's such a no brainer for public safety, but only California introduced such a law, and it was defeated.
Absent that law, medical boards generally have to receive patient complaints to initiate an investigation, and cult members don't (want to) realize that doctors like Ladapo are quacks. And most boards are too reactionary to institute new policies.
