    ** A question for Mastodon devs and other code divers:
    When I look at one of my posts on the website, I can see the number of bosts and likes it has (as far as my instance server knows, I assume).
    This information is not included in the archive I can download. Is there a way to get those numbers, other than scraping?

    (I have written an app to get my stories out of the Xitter archive - I'm adding an "Import from Mastodon" function as well, and noticed there's no engagement info.) **

      @shaknais In the archive download I get, there is an outbox.json file with all my posts, and they only have replies, not likes or boosts.

      Are you looking at a REST API or something?

      @MicroSFF Those numbers, and who is responsible for each, show up on a post's JSON file, for me.

      @lffontenelle I like to put together a "Most popular stories each month" list to sum up the year.

      @MicroSFF congrats! I never looked into my Facebook and Xitter exports, and never bothered with downloading my Mastodon history

      @shaknais I had hoped to avoid having to make a REST call for each post, but I suspect I will have to.

      @MicroSFF Yeah. For my host, I can just add ".json" to the end of any post, to get the data.

      @MicroSFF @shaknais

      Maybe a constantly running bot using the push API (https://docs.joinmastodon.org/methods/push/) would help with the rate-limiting. That's more resource-consuming, of course.

      Also: as on Fedi, people may be more prone to auto-removing old interactions (Masto has a setting for posts, and scripts for favs/boosts exist), the fav and boost totals may decline over time. A push-based bot would help track the highest fav / highest boost.

      @aaribaud @shaknais I don't fancy setting up a bot; I'll probably make it a function to run manually occasionally. Since I will already have filtered out non-story posts, there shouldn't be thousands of posts to request.
      Thanks for the documentation links!
