      @peterbrown @ChrisMayLA6

      It's not only the off-peak fares trial (which has been extended) that's been ignored but also the fact ScotRail and the Caledonian Sleeper operation are now in public hands. And let's not forget how the train staff strikes were handled much better in Scotland.

      From the media? Nothing to see here....

      @ChrisMayLA6 in contrast, the Scottish Government has removed peak fares for a trial period to increase usage. But the media are absolutely silent about it because nothing the Scottish government does can ever be portrayed as good.

      The consistent narrative is that Scotland is shite.

      The #green future of #transport must include a major role for railways..... but rather the #Tories are focussing on 'financial sustainability' to force through more cuts & 'efficiency gains' on the #railways.

      Rather than trying to expand passenger numbers by improving service levels & reducing ticket prices, we now see a Govt. telling the railways they must cut back because off declining revenues caused by lower passenger numbers.

      NO! the point is to reverse this decline not cut back more!
