My doctors..
This can't even get to speak to a receptionist to make an appointment.
But they're happy to. Spend money constantly texting to jab me. 😭

My wife likes that fake frozen Texas toast, ugh, erk, brr. Leaves your mouth all greasy, tastes like shit, and gives me RAGING heartburn afterwards.
We made meatball sandwiches out of leftover garlic Texas toast once, and that was pretty good, but only because there was so much marinara on there, you couldn't taste the margarine. I keep telling her, just buy plain Texas toast and I'll turn it into garlic bread for you, but I guess it's both a convenience food and a comfort food for her, so she doesn't listen :/ -

I found a spice mix called Litehouse Salad Seasoning that's great on garlic bread and nearly everything else. I like to make aioli for sandwiches with it too. I used to buy it at Winco but they don't have it any more, so I buy it on Amazon. A little pricey for what it is,but it's TERRIFIC. Their poultry seasoning is really good too.

I put vitamin C and D on the list earlier. Pretty much all the stuff that ACTUALLY worked for covid will help some here. But also older things that people have forgotten about (because it's easier and more convenient to eat a fist full of new commercial otc pills than make the hot water pan tent) will help a lot too.
That conventional stuff does work, but not always. It bears noting that the FDA pulled most of the cold pills off the shelves this winter (just in time for cold season!!!) because recent studies showed that phenylalanine does not work. People need extra help this winter because of that, and the backlash from covid. Nobody wants to go to the doctor any more.
Some of the old stuff works too, but it's more of a pain in the butt, time consuming, and doesn't work for the reasons that our grandparents thought it worked. When you're seriously hurting, you'll try anything once (hence the vaccination rate). Better to try something less invasive first, imho, I'm a big fan of that. -

Maybe some generic mucinex to help you cough up all that crap, vitamin c and d to bolster your immune system, probably a ventolin inhaler (also gotta get that from a doctor). Unfortunately you are too sick for grandma's air baths, maybe you have someone at home who could do it for you, while you're out? Idk but you're terribly sick, I am so sorry, it must be hell.
You could also try a generic Afrin inhaler, but those are ghastly, a last resort really. It will open up your sinus, but it completely destroys your throat. If you use it more than three days, one day you'll get the burning fires of hell in your sinus, like you did a fat line of all-fabric bleach. I hate to even mention it because it's so bad, but it sounds like you're suffering so much, even a few hours of being able to breathe through your nose might improve things. Damn. Hope you feel better soon. -

Their sneezes and coughs and farts just hang in the air when they keep it closed-up like that.
My grandma used to take "air baths" in the winter. We'd all put on coats and sweaters and she'd turn off the heater and open all the doors and windows for a half-hour or so, then close everything back up and put the heater on. My mom used to think my grandma was crazy and that she'd catch pneumonia, but now I think my grandma was right.
I also replace the heater filter after everyone has been sick. I think heater and air conditioner filters can cause a lot of problems; more likely allergies, but potentially viruses and bacteria too, so there's that. -

I wonder why I'm constantly sick, why is it during the cold. science does not know enough about diseases, you can look up something and there'd just be no answer for why that happens. why do you get strep throat repeatedly even though your organism is supposed to build up immunity against it? they don't answer you. you could be entirely right, that guy is a faggot for shooting down that hypothesis, probably only in medicine/science for the money. -

Hombre Lego Mexicano (grandtheftautism@freespeechextremist.com)'s status on Saturday, 23-Dec-2023 10:37:41 JST Hombre Lego Mexicano @Mummabear @Zennblack @raintrees I got the flu right now. No flu jabs for me though. For one thing, I already have it, so I'll have immunity until next year, and for another, the medical community has so discredited themselves regarding vaccines, I no longer trust them to not sneak something a little extra in there.
I used to get flu jabs, but I still would get the flu, so I tasked the doctor I had at the time about it. Strike one is he huffed irritable and rolled his eyes at the question, and that's a bad start; doctors should be willing to entertain any question, no matter how stupid, with compassion and good humor.
Then, he told me that the flu shot doesn't PREVENT the flu, it just tunes up your immune system so it's more prepared to fight it, and you're less likely to be hospitalized, and you'll be sick for a shorter time. The flu shot lowers the amount of time you'll be sick from 7 days to 3 days, he said. I had him now.
So I said, "Well, maybe I should take Emergen-C or Airborne instead," and he reared back like I'd suggested sacrificing his youngest daughter to Ba'al.
"Emergen-C and Airborne don't work, they're snake oil," he said scathingly (strike two). I smiled sweetly.
"But doctor, they also say they'll lower the amount of time you're sick with a cold or flu from 7 days to 3 days. And they're also approved by the FDA, like the flu shot." He turned purple as he scrabbled for a response. Finally he gave up.
"Look, I've given my recommendation, and you can follow it, or don't, there's nothing more to be said at this point," he said irritably (strike three). I smiled again, passed on the flu shot, and never went to that doctor again.
It's my understanding that if you have more than the most basic understanding of modern medicine and your own personal condition, doctors are not at all prepared to deal with you. Knowledge is indeed power. -

All the rest is a kajillion small glass bottles of spices that are always falling off the rack when you jiggle it. There's at least 3 rows of little bottles up there, plus a giant bowl full of little baggies of things like bay leaves and cinnamon sticks behind the lil Christmas tree. My wife crocheted all the snowflakes; they're looking a little worse for the wear because the steam melted the starch out of them. Note to self: do not hang crochet snowflakes in the kitchen next year.
