@Owl@TrevorGoodchild This is just paradox of tolerance tho. I get where y'all are coming from. But fighting back with the same tactics is not a winning strategy. The best way to defeat your enemy is not by destroying them, but by making them irrelevant. And I believe we are currently winning this battle, not losing it anymore.
We've already moved onto "friend/enemy" distinction.
And some people here have trouble with even that. People need to understand that their morals and values should only be for people who have their best interests at heart. Who have their backs. You don't grant people you want locked down and secured rights. You restrict them in any way you can.
The best way to defeat your enemy is not by destroying them, but by making them irrelevant.
No offense intended Alex, but we don't have the means of doing so. We're the ones up on the chopping block, being made irrelevant through total economic, social and political disenfranchisement if we don't go along with what they say to, and only work within the lines of what they find socially acceptable.
They're perfectly willing to destroy us, and it's working for them. Why then would we not return fire?
@Owl@TrevorGoodchild You have that opinion because you feel the effects of it on your life. I understand that. I have created a small bubble of protection around myself. That's what you need to do. Society will change when individuals get their shit together first. It's like Jordan Peterson says, clean you room before you change the world.
@alex@TrevorGoodchild Like permanently silencing disgusting and abhorrent "people" who use their "freedoms" to infect others with their disgusting social contagions.
@alex@Owl@TrevorGoodchild I do enjoy your optimism, but unless we have a few judges, district attorneys, and scholarship bursars picking out lucky fedi writers to send to lawfare school we're still losing.
I can't request that you preside over my trial in the event I kill an unfortunately-coloured attacker in self defense - I'm getting the Honorable Deshontay Jones, who narrowly passed the bar and put in 2 whole years of general law practice before being appointed to the bench (to become the county's "first BIPOC bi-gendered aromantic" judge.
Not to say I'm not grateful for what you've done, it's stellar and very much appreciated. I'm just saying posting has its limits, and we're suffering in the real world
@ChristiJunior@alex@Owl@TrevorGoodchild "clean your room before taking on the world" is good advice, and bad-jacketing the man who said it doesn't change that fact. I agree with the note of caution.
I think when anyone has something worthwhile to say, you can endorse it. I endorse "clean your room." I don't endorse crying like a bitch on camera every 30 seconds or hanging out with The Daily Wire.
@jeremiah@alex@Owl@TrevorGoodchild It *does* mean that everything he says is suspect, that he should never be promoted and endorsed, and that anything he says that smacks of compromise or moderation should automatically be ignored.
