      @ryo @PhenomX6 @amerika @bot @parker Pretty much. There weren't as many people around, but it was quality over quantity. People online were overall a lot more interesting. And more real too, since the internet didn't just mirror the real world, it was escapism.

      Anyway, now there's also the great dilemma that the good websites have very few users and can't do anything to get more of them, because if you let outsiders know that they exist, retards that don't care about maintaining reasonable standards of post quality will come in and fuck it all up.

      Even being as reluctant as I am to share stuff, I have made that mistake myself, though only with one person. You basically have to know someone for two or three years before sharing anything, and they have to be at least 25, or it will just turn into 4chan, Reddit, or Twitter. It doesn't help that the popular websites got so bad that even the bad users started going elsewhere.

      8chan back in the day is an example of that, 4chan kept getting worse and 8chan ended up going downhill in quality too, from everyone going there. The first exodus was fine, that's how it got a userbase, but more kept happening and the quantity went up, but the quality went downhill, and things got stale.

      I can even see this on Odysee, when a lot of people suddenly come from YouTube, comments get a lot shittier and I have to make my "don't reply to stupid comments" policy a little more strict so that I don't end up ripping my hair out. Though in that case it seemed to be mostly temporary. Also, the website itself is shit, and apparently is already censoring people, so it will go down sooner than later regardless of user quality. It's a matter of time at this point.

      But it's a bit more fine, at least the retards are isolating themselves away from all the rest of us, and if a mass migration from REEEdit and Shitter to Fedi will happen (again), they'll most likely go to all the retarded instances because "everyone else is a (neo-)nazi/pedophile/racist/ismphobiadenier/libertarian/freespeech/lolicon/conpiracytheorist/whatever", and only those with a brain will take the time to check whether their claims are true or not, while everyone else will just take it for granted.

      The fedi is also normie repellent. There are a lot of people who flip shit if you bring up Mastodon and bad experiences they had. One even mentioned people groomed by troons on the other side of the fedi. Another mentioned how people there are all crazy. One normie I knew even acted like hosting a Pleroma instance was like hosting an imageboard in terms of dealing with CP spammers and the like (actual ones).

To me that's the thing that Trunks created one more of when he traveled back in time in Dragon Ball. I can use it, though. Not sure if I'm using it right, but I'm using it.

      Kinda like Twitter, the thing that I used for shitposting for a couple months in maybe 2014 or 2015 (when you only needed a throwaway email address to make one and it took 10 seconds) and then got banned and didn't make a new one because it was boring and actual discussions were impossible. Why do people use that again? It's basically designed to be only usable by retards and shitposters, and shitposting gets old fast.

      If I didn't hate my life, I would be almost a literal 30 year old boomer at this point.

      @PhenomX6 @parker @amerika @TerminalAutism Being a freelancer over a wagecuck has been a very good decision, though now with the whole bullshit invoice soystem coming up, I'm in the process of getting my clients to work with me outside of the soystem and have them pay me in Monero instead of Yen.

      Because if they don't, then I will perhaps have to change to being a merchant myself for as long as CBDCs didn't replace the Yen yet, because as soon as that happens, then I guess the only option I will have left is to grow my own food and disconnect myself from the internet completely, so I'm prepared for this scenario as well.

      @ryo @PhenomX6 @TerminalAutism @amerika @bot @parker I can understand the difficulty for an audience part but I find the Fedi fairly simple to use, and I'm not too very technically inclined at all (At least, I believe that to be the case compared to the average person). The UI is pretty simple and easy navigable, and everything on the user-end is accessible due to it's readability. I had no trouble at all adapting.

That's why you see all of these monopolies around that totally dwarf their competitors — they have no real competition. People naturally align towards convenience and what ever is most the most popular. It gives them a 'sense' of familiarity.
