    #HootchReview
    Juice: Apple
    Sugar: 4 teaspoons
    Yeast: wine
Time: 3 weeks - 1 day (I opened it early)

The balance on this one is great! The perfect low alcohol cider. Light tingle from the CO2, but not bubbly. Full apple flavour, good level of sweetness. Still need to up the alcohol content considerably.

@charliebrownau I got 3 more brewing on the shelf, and another one I'm going to get started tonight. The yeast I got on ebay for $3, and it can do about 20 bottles of juice. So that's a cost of a bit over $1.4/L. Highly recommend everyone give it a go.

@charliebrownau ahhh I forgot to factor in the sugar! The current ones I'm brewing have a lot more sugar. 200g per bottle. So that ups the price per litre by about 15c.

Have you tried propagating the yeast?

@SirLuke not worth the effort TBH. I have no idea what I'm doing, and I have zero equipment. This is just an experiment to see if it works. All I do is add sugar, a pinch of yeast, shake it up, and leave it on the shelf. The cap on these bottles works like a valve to release excess pressure, so no nasty explosions.

Yeah, for 3 bucks it's hard to compete. Doesn't take much of your time trying to make more of it for it to be cheaper to just buy more.
Did you measure the alcohol content with a hydrometer, or are you just going by taste/buzz?

@SirLuke Just going by buzz. Although I'm considering buying something to measure it.
