Ages ago I bought this empty Genesis case to put a Pi in… but with a MiSTer on the way here, I think that’ll fit nicely inside.
I’m looking forward to this! ❤️😁

@mac84tv The MiSTer is one fun little toy:) It’s a shame there’s gaps on the Apple side of things. Would love a Lisa, a better Mac, a IIGS, etc core.
Console wise it’s very solid.
Very cool! I’m looking forward to it!
Do you think the stock power supply would be sufficient for two-four USB controllers, the MiSTer powered USB hub, a small fan, and maybe a WiFi USB adapter?
Or should I upgrade from the included 2A/5V power brick? 🤔
@breadbin @mac84tv I haven't played with the computer MiSTer cores, but it's really amazing to see what has been created and matured over the past few years.
I have two right now, one installed on a MiSTer MultiSystem v1 board and simple Monster Joysticks "case". The other one is in the living room and is in a Mister Addons passively-cooled case.
I want to set up the former with a 4:3 LCD monitor in my room to experiment with the computer cores and dedicate the latter for arcade and console cores.
@mac84tv @qlp I’d say upgrade from day one. The included one is weak and it’s never good running so close to the limit so to speak.
WiFi works but isn’t amazing. If you can use Ethernet, then that’s a good thing.
If you have a NAS and hook it up to Ethernet I’d suggest looking into if you can use NFS. SDCards are what they are, and being able tot wipe one or replace with it a new if things are wonky is a great thing. Sometimes updates can make things a bit interesting.
GL!
@mac84tv @breadbin I have a Mean Well 5V 4A power supply that came with my MultiSystem kit and seems to be highly recommended if you use external USB drives or any add-ons that draw a bit of power.
I would highly recommend getting a fan to cool it, as the passively-cooled case from MA gets pretty toasty after 10-15 minutes of use.
@qlp @breadbin thanks, I’ll get the power supply too. Yes, I have a fan and heatsink I’ll be using 👍
