     @eloquence this has been very frequently requested, more of a problem for web apps (iOS apps use iCloud, Android apps use Google Drive). Technically could be a separate data storage server but would require another login + it becomes centralised 🫣.

     Mastodon could have an API for 3rd-party-app-specific user configs, but would probably need more discussion, effort and opt-in from other devs.

     It'd be cool if Phanpy-specific settings could be saved on a Mastodon server. Is there an API for such app-specific configurations yet and if not, should we propose one?
