Did you know that you can get a hospital bill months after receiving service, because you pay the copay, but then the insurance company also haggles with the hospital over how much the bill will be and how much they’ll pay. What they don’t pay they send to you. So you can get like a $3,000 bill months after a bunch of appointments because your company lost or something and basically your copay doesn’t actually pay for everything that’s just the “fuck you” fee.
Moral of the story only old people and niggers can use the medical system, de facto.- BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this.

@Griffith The worst part is how billing happens means maximum fee extraction.
>$350 consultant fee from physician
>$200 supply fee from physician
>same fees repeated for every test ordered
>same fees repeated from hospital for the privilege of walking into their ER
Makes me want to find a good chiropractor who massively oversteps what he's supposed to diagnose and go to him. -

@BowsacNoodle @Griffith i cannot warn against chiropractors enough
i'd recommend learning to treat yourself with off the shelf crap like i do before going to a chiropractor

@HoolaHoolaNope @Griffith @BowsacNoodle fun fact veterinary drugs are held to the exact same FDA standards as people pills. so if you know what you need and the dosage and can acquire the vet equiv at like 1/10th the price (like with antibiotics and the like) there is no reason not too tbh BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this. -

@Paultron @Griffith I used to be anti-chiropractor, but I know enough myself to protect against BS and magic catch-all supplements. Certain things absolutely can be fixed by therapeutic massage, since it's just restoring lymphatic and muscular homeostatis. Bone-setting is kind of neat but I don't like when people screw with my neck. -

How often do these hospitals take a s hit on people’s credit over this and require them to take said hospitals to court to argue the case you just did?

@Griffith It's a scam. Your insurance company stiffed them and despite the fact that legally you're all paid up, they try and trick you into thinking that you "owe the difference". No, that's not how it works. The oral contract you made with the hospital specified "payment for services". There was no estimate. There was no unit pricing. You received services and they received payment. That was the deal and you fulfilled it. The bean counters running the health care industry need to be thrown into a volcano. -

@Griffith Just don't pay. They can't repo whatever treatment they gave you. They'll call you a few times and will eventually write it off. Don't let them sucker you into some sort of "payment plan". -

@caekislove I’ve taken the Hyde pill this time. Literally getting charged for appointments I went into in March. I wouldn’t have gone if I knew it would be four figures over eight months.
Literally unusable. There’s no way to know what you’ll owe or when you’ll owe it. These puffed-up scumbags can’t get wiped off the face of the earth soon enough. -

Wouldn’t they also have to prove that I agreed to pay that specific price? Honestly I feel like growing a bigger nose just to sue hospitals for dinging people’s credit, try to frame it as libel or something.

@NEETzsche @Griffith Oh they'll ding your credit, for sure. They won't sue though since lawyers cost more than they'd make, especially if you are literally incapable of paying. Also they'd have to prove that the unit pricing they used to calculate your bill is the same that they use for everyone else, which they can't because their whole entire industry runs on illegal price discrimination. @Griffith @NEETzsche Mortgage companies don't even give a shit about credit scores now that they immediately bundle up all the mortgages and sell them to suckers on Wall Street. Having a shitty "credit rating" really only affects car financing, credit cards and those ripoff "Rent-to-own" places. NEETzsche likes this. -

@NEETzsche @Griffith Some people have luck disputing the debt with the credit reporting agency. I wouldn't bother, since it falls off the report in 7 years, regardless. NEETzsche likes this. -

Seven years maximum. In reality it falls off before then in most cases. Also I bet it’s not that hard to dispute the non-debt with credit bureaus, because your argument could be, “I never agreed to pay that,” and the argument just ends dead in the water there.
I’m talking going for more than just that, though. These hospitals are impugning people’s character, in formal complaints, based on bullshit, as a method of extorting them. I can’t think of a more libelous thing, personally.

@NEETzsche @Griffith More to the point, I never consented to Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion keeping SECRET DOSSIERS on my personal financial status and selling them to anyone off the street who pays them. How is that not an insane violation of people's privacy? If I can't get a loan because of one of their reports, how is that not contract interference?
If the bitch who made the "shitty media men" excel spreadsheet can get sued for libel and lose, how do credit bureaus get away with essentially doing the same thing on a massive scale?NEETzsche likes this. -

And to double down on my libel claim, if a credit bureau continues to publish bullshit about people after having been explicitly and formally informed that it’s bullshit, and it is bullshit, doesn’t that make them guilty of libel on top of that?
