     @starshine the principle is to extract money from American companies or to hurt them if that's not possible, in that light all the decisions make sense.

     IIRC a refugee is someone fleeing from a country where they're in danger to the nearest safe country, and that's where they're supposed to apply for a refugee status. I can't find which convention says that, so maybe this is a misconception. But if it's true:

     Ukraine is directly next to Poland, so it's on us to give Ukrainians a refuge.

     People fleeing from Iraq and Syria had to pass through multiple other countries, surely some of them must've been safe.

     @thcrt @ipg @starshine I don't know what this looks like EU-wide, but in Poland the sentiment checks out, and I think there are good reasons for it *in this case*, can elaborate if you want.
