    🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Every vote that goes to someone other than Biden is a gift to Trump. There’s already a handful of spoiler candidates.

    “Moderate.” 🙄

    “Sen. Joe #Manchin says he 'absolutely' would consider a presidential run…said he first has to explore whether there’s an appetite among voters for a moderate candidate like him.”

      @GottaLaff @CharJTF

      I don't know what a ConservaDem is.

      Yes he was a pain in the butt on family stipends, but if you look at the rest of Joe Manchin's actual voting record, he votes with the democrats virtually every time. He voted to remove Trump twice. He's voted for every Biden judicial nominee. He dragged his feet but eventually voted for the IRA -the biggest anti-Climate Change legislation ever passed by any nation on Earth.

      Joe Manchin isn't the villain progressives act like he is.*

      *subject to change based in the event of an independent Presidential campaign announcement.

      @1dalm @CharJTF I disagree. He's no "moderate", he's a ConservaDem.

      Biden is moderate with progressive leanings/policies at times.

      He is a moderate, but so is Joe Biden. It's not like AOC is at the top of the ticket.

      @1dalm I've posted those very words many times. I'm well aware of his record.

      However, on some really important issues, he's full on conservative. That's what I meant. He's destroyed our chances for ending the filibuster, he's gotten in the way of some major policies/laws. He's teased about switching parties. You don't do that as a "moderate."

      @1dalm If someone votes against moderate laws that would seriously help this country, then I don't consider them moderate.

      "Joe Manchin Votes Against Protecting Abortion Rights Despite Claiming To Support Abortion Rights
      Senate Democrats' attempt to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law failed Wednesday with Manchin as the lone Democrat to join every Republican to tank the bill."

      More...

      Okay, we clearly have different definitions of "Moderate".

      What you described is exactly what I would define as "moderate".

      (Except for the switching parties thing. Switching parties really shouldn't have any meaning at all and candidates should be able to switch for any number of reasons. Or at least that would be the case if one of our two parties wasn't evil.)

      @GottaLaff If he runs as an independent, branding himself a moderate, I wonder if he might end up pulling more GOP votes from Trump. I don't think there's any appetite among Dems for a disingenuous person like him who's stood in the way of some key Biden initiatives & is a wholly-owned subsidiary of fossil fuels (i.e., I hope that's the case).

      @GottaLaff @Nonya_Bidniss and of course there’s an entire “left” effort to get people to vote 3rd party or not at all. Done in bad faith and supported by useful idiots

      @Nonya_Bidniss There may be some who think Biden is too progressive. EVERY vote has to go to Biden. We are in huge trouble in the electoral college count now. I'm terrified.

      @tshirtman Oh, and Biden is considered "progressive" by many because he's gotten some good progressive stuff passed or somehow enacted via exec order etc. But he's a moderate, yes.

      @GottaLaff …plus, it now occurs to me that the GOP could be in full internal nutkicking mode by then with Trump imprisoned with more charges being laid on him, which means that people like Manchin or DeSantis or any of the other “Neither Left Nor Right” Fascists will all be destroying each other’s chances because they have neither a cult behind them nor any skill (or intention) with running a government.

      @GottaLaff I guess, strategically speaking, the question would be whether, in particular swing states, he will draw enough Trump votes that Biden wins or vice versa.
